The 5th conference of Asian Consortium on Computational Materials Science (ACCMS-5)

ACCMS conference becomes an international event for exchanging and archiving knowledge on the development of advanced computational methodology and its strong link to material science and engineering application.

The previous successful ACCMS conferences were held in India (Bangalore 2001), Russia (Novosibirsk, 2004), China (Beijing, 2005), Korea (Seoul, 2007) and two ACCMS Virtual Organisation (ACCMS-VO) conferences in Japan (Sendai, 2007, 2008).

The ACCMS-5 will be held in Vietnam (Hanoi, 2009) and it is co-organised by the Institute of Physics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (IOP, VAST), Hanoi University of Technology (HUT) and Hanoi National University (VNUH).

Computational Materials Science (CMS) has emerged as a distinct multidisciplinary branch of science whose relevance and importance has comes from

1. the desire to have a microscopic understanding of complex materials and phenomena, in particular at nano-scale
2. the need to design novel materials with a desired combination of physical, chemical and metallurgical properties
3. possibility to describe the basis interactions in materials via appropriate quantum and statistical mechanical tools. With the unprecedented growth of computer power (in terms of speed, memory etc.), and simultaneously developments of efficient and smart algorithms and codes, it is now possible to do large scale simulation of real materials with increasing complexity. A synergy amongst a wide variety of disciplines such as Physics, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Geology, Biology, Computer Science and Information Technology is gradually coming to a reality, because of the advancements in Computer Simulations. The predictive power of simulation can not only narrow down the task of the experimentalists, but also can open up possibilities for designing new materials. The days are not far when new tailormade materials will be "Created in Computer" before actual experiments.

The ACCMS-5 conference assembles Asian and world community to present their recent results on research, development of CMS. The scope of the conference ranges from fundamental computational methodology (density functional theory and beyond, quantum mechanical based interatomic potentials, molecular dynamic and Monte-Carlo simulation of thermodynamic and kinetic properties at large length and time scales, phase field method of micro-structural simulation…) to its industrial application of different materials properties.

The ACCMS-5 is delivered in a mix of keynotes, invited, contributed oral participants

Về phí tham dự Lớp học và Hội nghị, đây là mức phí ưu đãi dành riêng cho các đại biểu là người Việt Nam với đầy đủ các quyền lợi trong Lớp học và Hội nghị như các đại biểu nước ngoài.

1. Phí tham dự Lớp học nộp trước ngày 15/7/2009 là 1.000.000 đồng, bao gồm các khoản chi cho việc tham dự các bài giảng trong 2 ngày 7-8/9/2009 tại giảng đường ĐH Bách khoa Hà Nội, tài liệu lớp học, sử dụng máy tính, 02 bữa ăn trưa, 01 tiệc tối, coffee breaks. 
   Phí nộp sau ngày 15/7/2009 và tại Lớp học, là: 1.500.000 đồng
2. Phí tham dự Hội nghị nộp trước ngày 15/7/2009 là 1.500.000 đồng, bao gồm các khoản chi cho việc tham dự các phiên hội nghị trong 3 ngày 9-11/9/2009 tại khách sạn Melia Hà Nội, tài liệu hội nghị, 03 bữa ăn trưa, 01 bữa ăn tối, 01 tiệc chiêu đãi, coffee-breaks, tiền phản biện bài báo để in trong tạp chí quốc tế Computational Materials Science (ISSN: 0927-0256 in SCI list) Nxb Elservier 
   Phí nộp sau ngày 15/7/2009 và tại Hội nghị, là: 2.000.000 đồng
3. Các đại biểu trẻ có nguyện vọng xin miễn giảm phí tham dự Lớp học và Hội nghị, có thể làm đơn xin tài trợ của BTC. Đơn xin gửi về Ban thư ký Hội nghị.
